Mares & Omegas: Essential Fatty Acids for Optimal Health and Foal Development
Essential fatty acids play a crucial role in fertility, with DHA being particularly important for fetal development alongside EPA. Nutrolin® HORSE Sport is an excellent supplement for mares during the final trimester of pregnancy. Among fatty acids, EPA has also been shown to play a crucial role in mammalian development, with a concentration of 4,300 mg per 50 ml in Sport.
Pregnancy places a considerable demand on the mare, requiring not only increased energy but also the proper balance of omega fatty acids to support fetal growth. Additionally, a high intake of vitamin E during the final trimester is essential. Nutrolin® HORSE Sport provides 1,500 mg of vitamin E per 50 ml to meet this need.
Supplementing DHA and vitamin E during the mare’s lactation period is equally important, ensuring that the foal receives essential nutrients for its development through the mother’s milk.
